This portrait of Oberon is another redo from an older illustration.
I really like the way this one turned out, as I sometimes have difficulty working with a cool palette.
He tool longer than his counterpart, Titania, mainly because he has much more detail. I estimate this piece taking about 55-60 hours. I thought I would never get done!
I already knew I wanted him more complex than Titania, but I didnt know how. So I decided to give his skin these speckles, and that turned out rather well.
I do like how his torso turned out, his stomach in particular. There are only about 10 shapes there, one of the simplest areas in the piece, but highly effective.
